my dad was a dairy farmer as well, and i used to have to carry milk in pails into the "milkroom" and dump through strainers, which eventually went into a cooling tank......Larry's dad was a dairy farmer also......so it is NOT an unfamiliar scene....BUT.......this was high-tech milking for me!........but guess what hasn't changed???? the SMELL!!!....whoa baby! Heidi couldn't take it.......and i couldn't take it much longer!.......guess who never said a THING about it, tho it would be so foreign to them.......the KIDS! of course!!!.....what doll babies!!!
hey Georgians!!!....notice what color the DIRT is in IOWA!!!....NOT red!!!! yup, you better believe it.........BLACK and BEAUTIFUL!

we got to visit a wonderful dairy farm one beautiful afternoon! it was an organic milking process with beautiful Jersey cows! every one of them had a name and their own name tag! it was so cute!...of course the kids had NO fear and just went right up to them....even right up to their backsides, only to be pulled quite quickly away by the farmer!!!
